often unsatisfying, frequently cruel, usually boring, sometimes beautiful, once in a while exhilarating."

And you are here with me again, listening with me: the sea

no longer torments me; the self

I wished to be is the self I am."

Never let the future disturb you.
You will meet it, if you have to, with the same weapons of reason
which today arm you against the present
.”

― Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Full Pink Moon in Scorpio during the evening of April 21 through the early morning of April 22 encourages us to shine a light within our shadows and illuminate our heart's desires.

With this moon, there is a focus on relationships, commitments, contractual agreements with others, as well as our personal responsibilities to ourselves, in order to grow and learn from our hindrances.  This full moon is going to aide us in shining a light on our own energy so that we can fully perceive the path ahead and help us in discerning which direction to go from there.  Think about what it is that you want, and what it is that will make you the happiest.  Keep your greater consciousness in mind!

It takes a lot of courage to face your fears.  Once we learn to conquer what frightens us the most-- being valiant enough to realize our own apprehensions and self-sabotages (especially those we have avoided facing in the past)-- it will plant the seeds for a beautiful blossoming yet to come.

'Oftentimes we wonder if the decisions we have made are sound; if we pushed and pulled rightly, or followed the yearnings of our hearts.  It's true that I feel I need you here.  Not just because I'm missing you, but because I'm missing myself.  (The hardest part about missing you, is no longer knowing you.)  On nights when the moon tugs so strongly on my heart; and I am left with a deep longing, and an empty space... I remember that I came here to learn to make it on my own; and if I learn to love myself, I'll never be alone.'

"Time heals all wounds.  And if it doesn't, you name them something other than wounds and agree to let them stay."
--Emma Forrest

In the beginning, there was the Great Serpent, whose seven thousand coils lay beneath the earth so that it might not fall into the abysmal Sea.  In time, the Serpent began to move, unleashing its undulating flesh which rose slowly into a great spiral that enveloped the Universe in the heavens, it released stars and celestial bodies.  On earth, it brought Creation, winding through molten slopes to create rivers, the veins through which flowed the essence of all life.  Rising again into the sky, it cast lightning bolts that made sacred stones.  It lay along the path of the sun and with its layered skin, the Serpent retained the spring of Eternal Life and from its Zenith it let flow the waters upon which the people would nurse.  As the water fell to the earth, the Rainbow arose and the Serpent took her as his wife, their Love a cosmic helix that stretched the heavens.  (The Serpent and the Rainbow, Haitian Folklore Creation Myth)

I stayed up until I no longer had reason to be awake.  I begged sleep to take me then.
"Bring me someplace that feels like home."
